Planning your wedding? Brides and grooms who are planning their upcoming wedding tend to have questions. Sometimes all the questions you need answered come to you at the beginning of this process. However, many times the further along you are in the process of planning your wedding you realize you have more and more questions. That is okay, here are some answers to common questions.
When should the ceremony and reception locations be reserved? This is also something that should be taken care of right away. The reception and ceremony sites have a direct role into what the wedding is like. They help set the tone and mood of the entire day. Because of this, it is very important to make these choices early on.
Should I have a theme wedding? The choice is entirely up to you. However, with the availability of creative decorations, stationery and favors on the market today, it is quite easy to choose just about any wedding theme that you are interested in.
When should I order the wedding cake? The wedding cake should be ordered within two to four months of your wedding date. Of course there is nothing wrong with shopping ahead of time. If you have extra time and want to get a head start it would be a great idea to check out various bakeries. You are going to want to see their designer's portfolio, find out what flavors and fillings they offer and participate in some delicious cake taste testing.
When should we order the stationery? It is a good idea to order the wedding invitations and other stationery four to six months ahead of time. However, you might want to look into this a bit earlier if you are planning on ordering handmade invitations or specially designed invitations.
When should I book the florist? The florist also needs to be booked as soon as possible. The minimum is usually 6 - 9 months before the ceremony. This time frame may need to be adjusted based upon where you are getting married, the amount of florists servicing the area and the amount of weddings occurring near your own.
When should I purchase wedding favors? At least four months prior to the wedding. Make sure you do not order them before you are sure of your wedding theme (if you are having one) or the wedding colors. The favors are one of the areas in which you will have a wonderful opportunity to showcase your theme or colors.
