Why Would You Wear a Short Wedding Gown?

Many brides are choosing to wear short wedding dresses on their big day. Where there was a time that wearing a dress which did not skim the floor seemed un-lady like, those times are now gone. Today brides wear dresses that they approve of, regardless of what others think.

One of the many reasons why brides love short wedding dresses is the amount of comfort this gown offers. It can be far more comfortable walking down the aisle in a short slip dress or a tea length wedding gown that wearing the traditional wedding dress. One of the most common fears that brides have is that they will trip going down the aisle, with a shorter dress this fear is all but eliminated.

Shorter wedding dresses can be very stylish. A short wedding dress can be any length from a few inches above a brides ankle or a couple inches above the knees. The style of the dress can also vary a lot from slip dresses to sundresses and everything in between. Another reason why these dresses seem so stylish is because they seem more unique than the dresses other brides tend to wear.

Some brides who wear a shorter dress also decide to wear a colored gown. Even though colored wedding dresses are becoming popular in the traditional length, having a wedding gown which is both shorter than average and colored or even with just a splash of color makes the bride even more stunning.

There are some types of weddings that practically scream for short wedding dresses. Some examples of this include destination weddings, beach weddings and nontraditional ceremony sites such as parks and gardens.

Brides like many things, and being unique, stunning and memorable are on the list. This is one of the reason brides are starting to choose going short. A bride wearing a short wedding dress is more likely to be memorable. Brides looking to be unique, wearing a dress other brides aren't wearing sometimes look towards unique and nontraditional styles such as the short wedding dress.

Even though a short wedding dress may be more unique and unusual, it is quickly gaining acceptance. There is no real rule that a bride must have a long gown. Society is changing every day, so why shouldn't wedding apparel and wedding customs keep up with our ever-changing world?

Whereas short wedding dresses are not the most popular choice, what they are is unique and stunning. What each bride decides to wear is up to her, but a short wedding dress certainly is an option that should be considered.
